Sure they meant it, just like every divorced sucker in the world meant it when they said "...till death do us part..."...

Either it's all a crock or 'forever' has aquired a new definition.

Well, forever is a very slippery term. It may have many meanings. Forever may be actually until he is alive, forever also means that I'll love you forever (so long you continue loving me), Forever (until eternity or the attorney does us part), Forever (until I find a new one). Actually it may be manipulated in may ways.

Otherwise there is no such thing as forever in a human life. Nothing is permanent.

At the time, they probally mean it, but I doubt they will love you like that forever. Even if you got married and had kids..then got a divorce, they still "love" you, but somehow it changed into a different kind of love.. a "your the mother of my children" kinda love...I dont want you but I still worry for you kind of love. Like a parent has for the drug obsessed child that can't kick the habit...They can't do anything else to help, but still carry a love for them. So maybe they will love you forever, but realize there are many different levels of love.

At the Time HE/SHE said I will Love U forever they thought that they would, but as time went on things seem to change for a lot of People. We should take the time to think things out before we make promises or say things like this LOL.

It makes people feel good to say it. Sometimes people get caught up in a soppy moment and other times it becomes habit to say I love you and you have to keep upping the game, as in... love you forever. Other times, people do genuinely mean it!

I do think that it is possible for people to really be in love with the same person for their entire lives. My parents have been married for over 25 years, and my mom's grandparents were married for over 60. Yes, I think it is possible.
