I would exfoliate the skin - sometimes when the skin is dry and worn it goes darker. Lemon juice really does work......if you don't want to sit with your elbows in lemon halves, you could try some 'jif lemon juice' in small bowls. Then moisturise loads - petroleum jelly is a cheap way to intensively moisturturise your elbows......lay it on thick then wrap them up so that it doesnt go everywhere, and sleep in it overnight. Hope you enjoy the wedding!

What you need to do is soften the skin, try rubbing in a really intense cream like the Body Shop Hemp cream, I think it's called Elbow Grease. The colour appears darker because the skin is rough. Do this at least 3 times a day or whenever you think of it. And DON'T lean on your elbows, this makes them get that way.

I agree, mine are whiter too but that may be because they are dry. You could try the lemon, although I am not sure if it works. You could aso try self tan. It wont lighten your elbows but it will give the rest of your body a healthy glow and could even match their colour. Besides this would look great in the wedding pics. If not, I really wouldn't worry too much about it

try using a gentle exfoliate 3x a week. It should help take the dead skin off and show the new skin underneath. For a at home remedy try mixing sugar, olive oil and lemon juice. Rub it on and rinse off.

slice a lemon and put sugar and rub it till the sugar dissolves on both your elbows leave it for around ten minutes then wash it off with luke warm water and apply a good moisturizer. do it daily and you'll see the difference in two weeks flat.

lemon does work, exfoliate first, to make them nice and smooth then cut the lemon in half and put on on each elbow (lean on a table or something to keep them in place).

Cut the lemon in half and rest your elbows in them. It does work...

Excellent answer, TC. All areas where there is excess skin like elbows, knees, and ankles, need more attention because those areas are drier.

You need an exfoliating cream or mask, they are darker due to dead skin cells that accumulate to protect your joints, almost like a callus on your fingers.

TC has the right idea, as I too have this problem. So far no other lotions or creams, or scrubbing has done the trick, so like so many others I'll try one more thing yet again. Because of you I have the answer to my own question. Thanks JGIRL
