cos when the others took michael they told him that they would only give him walt if he set "henry" free and take sawyer,kate,jack and hurley to them, so to cover up what he had to do he shot ana lucia and libby cos they would tell everyone so he had to shut them up by shooting them and he then shot himself cos that is how he can make it look real and take them to the others for a fake revenge! who knows what happens when they get there!!

Laura's nearly but not quite right. He shot them (and then himself) to a) help Henry escape and b) as a result of this, lead a number of the survivors (specified by the Others) into a trap - he's said the others are badly organised and unarmed and a small raiding party will defeat them). He has then been promised he and Walt will be left to go free. The specific list is the reason why he was desperate for Hurley to go and would not allow Said to join the group.
