I'm learning French, and I want to put some songs onto my iPod, but I'm not sure which songs are any good. Can someone give me some really good popular songs in French? I'm into pop and rock especially.
Also, when I was in France, we heard a girl on the radio who sounded like Delta Goodrem, but the french version. Does anyone know her name?

I'm french and I can give you some names of french bands who play pop-rock. We don't have a lot as the music in France is mostly rubbish! So you can try Indochine, Mickey 3D, Superbus, Anais, les Wampas and why not Vanessa Paradis and Carla Bruni!
But I can't help you for the second question!

Sorry, really don't know much more, but I did these songs when I was learning french(translating.) I think I was probably the only loser in my class still listening to those songs..The Celine Dion one rocks, such a beautiful love song...

I'd definitely recommend MC Solaar; Qui Seme Le Vent Recolte Le Tempo or Mach 6 - wicked stuff
also, check out this thing called Earworms, they do a rapid learning CD of 200 words/phrases set to music, I used it when I was learning Spanish - a bit basic and cheesy by it certainly sticks in your memory

Telephone (and now Jean-Louis Aubert) is a good rock group and the lyrics are worth it.
As for pop, try Raphael and Corneille.

Try Air "Sexy Boy" - They're French. Also Vanessa Paradis did some songs in her native language. Oh and there was that dirty one by Serge & Jane "J'Ataime" Lol, excuse my french......
