I keep getting IMs form people I have never even talked to. Some say they have read my fanfics and are fans of my work. (witch is cool) but other just wanted to talk to me for no reason at all.
Why is that? I dont get best answer every offtion, So I know that sure as heck isn't it.

Either they're bots trying to sell you porn, or they are socially inadequate individuals who have searched Yahoo Directory for females in your age group in your area.
I wouldn't feel too flattered by this - they really don't care what you look like, they just like the idea that a girl is talking to them (and yes, they are probably playing with themselves as they talk to you).
Gotta love that internet!

If you leave your phone number in a public place, random people will call you. If you have your IM set to accept incoming messages from people you don't know, the same thing will happen. Change your preferences or settings and the problem will go away.

If it irritates you, i guess the best thing you can do is to make yourself as anonymous as you can.
