1. It has a very user friendly interface.It's like operating a music player.
2. It's virus detection rate is high.
3. It's easy on system resources.
4. It has script blocking, email protection and many more advanced features that you don't normally found on a free antivirus software.

hey i have read out many suggestions but i didn't think avg is the best
because you might have read on the webpage it takes care for only some types of virus
symantac is the bst and biggest firm in this field you should use their prod.
which is norton if you want free i will send it to you through the mail go and download it form there it will be free for you

AVG from grisoft is pretty good for a freeware product or avast, however i would cover all options by having some other programs that scan your system just incase AVG misses something. Try www.majorgeeks.com for downloads and reviews to help you choose good luck
