Cute joke. However, the hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS) that is caused by E. coli O157:H7 can be fatal...and that is not funny. So far, one person has died and 109 people have been hospitalized. The common E. coli that is found everywhere is normally not pathogenic so probably you thought the spinach had that kind of E. coli.
