Yes, have to have a doctor write out a prescription for lidocaine or Excylocaine, 5%... It comes in a gell and takes the relief off within 5 minutes. First use alcohol and if you are out, use some vinegar or wash the bite well and then put the gel on. Make sure it is the 5% because it comes inn 2% and not as effective. I am the same way, I get bit, see it for a month itch for 2 weeks! Nothing over the counter works at all for me. You can buy the generic brand in this gel, and it works just as well.

I come from a country with awful lots of mosquitoes... to prevent, wear repellant or use mosquitoes spray... if already bitten u...take toothpaste, rub it there...in no time at all the itch will be gone... this is due to the menthol inside the toothpaste...mentholated paste/medication will soothes itchiness. Try this.

I'd go with the antihistamines too actually. Wash your feet before you go to bed to help prevent more bites. Apparently they are particularly fond of sweaty feet. (Not suggesting that you have sweaty feet, but I think even a little perspiration is attractive to mosquitos!) And maybe wear socks in bed until your bites go away in case they return to the scene of the crime.

Vinegar is great to stop the itch and swelling. You won't smell very nice, but it does work. Dab some vinegar on the bites using a piece of cottonwool.

Go to your DR. Seriously. I had insect bites earlier on in the summer and they wouldn't stop itching and wouldn't go away. In the end I had to go to the dr and he was very close to sending me to hospital as they were so bad. A strong course of antibiotics helped to clear it up in the end. If not take antihistamines (like hayfever pills) they are supposed to help.

I live by a lake and we get alot of misquitos. When I get bit I use Benadryl Spray. It stops the itching and they seem to heal faster.

Hydra-Cortisone cream will stop the itching straight away but it's a steroid so try using it sparingly.
