HH Objects are gravitational shockwaves from stars that form.

If I had to guess where to look for one, I would point my telescope at a nebula. Basic principles: nebulae - or gas clouds are locations that stars can, and will form. This is your best area.

A website I found quickly that gives an overview is:

Within this website are references to many well known and useful sources.

I hope this helps your studies.

HH-34 has been studied to pieces. I suppose it depends on what you want to do. I recommend you contact an observational expert in the field of protostellar outflows. Bo Reipurth at the university of Hawaii is one of the best.

He will not waste his time, so be a serious student with a well thought out proposal for what you want to examine (do your homework on the topic before you approach him) and you probably should try to phone him directly rather than rely on email, or go through one of his graduate students.
