Mars! Also the planet deemed to be made up of a series of canals! Some nut years back envisgaed the canals were for the transportation of water. However, I understand latent research on the subject drew a complete blank. Seems the local ants somehow infested the canals as the water turned red, the ants couldn't stop peeing, drinking too much coke!

Since mars is farther away from sun than earth, its surface has cooled much than earth. The iron, which is present in the mars surface is thus rich in oxygen that makes it to appear reddish in color when it is seen from earth.
