Yes I am concerned, the natural resources do not appear to be replaceable by synthetic. Without regulated birth control world population will spiral out of control.
Mankind has gone beyond the only the fittest will survive scenario, we have the knowledge and resources to provide a comfortable life with minimalist risk. That is only attainable if the size of population is at manageable level.
We still have the 'produce more and some will survive to look after you in your old age' mentality in some of the poorer regions. Some how this appears to have a knock on effect on the migration of the population and along with the economy and market forces. The outcome is a strain on the more civilised regions and more stress on the poorer areas.
It is difficult to condemn the size of the population when you are part of it.

I agree that the expanding population of the world is a problem, but I can't imagine any politician taking action to implement controls. The whole lot of them are just too interested in personal image and are insufficiently interested in acting for the better good of the general public.

very good question. the human race is like a 72 hour bacterial culture in a petri dish in that it will consume its resources and poison itself with its own excrement within 72 hours. people shouldn't have kids if they dont have certain qualifications (financial, intellectual, parenting, patience, keep a potted plant alive, etc.) this isnt to mean that genetic mapping is a great idea, because sometimes a mutation leads to a hardier species. so yes, your on the right idea with your question. BUT, the powers that be know that wars are won by attrition, and in that case china wins. and war is big business.
YES, I CARE! the problem is that it would be so complicated to get people to think long term. but i hope for all our sakes people like you keep asking questions and trying to work this thing out.
PEACE.

Fortunately Mother Nature has a mechanism for controlling this overpopulation. It's called HATRED and there seems to be an inexhaustible supply of it. As long as we have Capitalists, Christians, Muslims and Jews walking the earth- each believing that THEY are right, and willing to kill anyone who disagrees with them- I don't think we need worry about overpopulation.

No, it isn't expanding too quickly nor is it over-populated as a whole, SOME sections or countries are and have been for decades, others have not. No, I'm not concerned, my biggest concern right now is bacon & eggs or cereal for my breakfast.

Yes, it is worrying. I don't see any reason for any couple to complain if, according to a law, a couple would be allowed to have up to 10 children-not one more.

Yes the world is overpopulated. One thing we should do is kick out all the idiots into the seas and oceans.

I think we should pay people to not have children. And it would have to be voluntary, or you'll have trouble, somewhere...
