I think you two should talk it out as much as possible and come up with a solution. You're right that he shouldn't be with you just because of the baby, but on the other hand he can still play a major roll in the baby's life. He can spend a lot of time visiting if it comes to that, or taking the baby for a day or weekend.
However, whatever you decided, you need to seek financial support from him, and you need to set all this up through legal representation. I can't tell you how many times two people have a verbal agreement of how things are going to be and then months or years down the line, something goes wrong and the baby is caught in the middle of it.
Please consider at least meeting with a lawyer or counselor to figure this thing out and then get something in writing. I wish the best of luck to the three of you.

I would say just let go, if he's that immature, to make a child, and then not take responsibility, you don't need him, and all he'll do is hurt you and your baby. Don't let him walk in and out of your child's life like he controls it, there are better men out there, so don't give up a good man, for a man, that won't take care of you or your child!

you should tell him about the baby but make it 100% clear that he does NOT have to stay if he doesn't want to be with you. Tell him that if he wants to see the child there will be no problem with that, but to stay just for a child isnt doing the child any good because he/she will know and fighting around the baby will only jack him/her up.

You can't really let go, because child support is going to be an important issue.
How about going to counseling & getting professional advice about what the best next steps for you are (either together or on your own).

Sigh this is why I don't understand why people go off and have sex and babies with people who they aren't sure they want to share their lives with and get married to... But too late for that...
Let him be in your child's life, spend time with him deciding if you want to have a relationship or not.

Drop him and tell him that you are not interested in him right now but maybe down the road you will.

Let him go. You don't need a lot of drama in your life while you are pregnant.
