These two card games are very popular in New Zealand - even among kids - but no-one seems to play them here (UK).

I live in Devon and Euchre is a very popular card game. There are local leagues. Some people take this game very seriously and have even been known to cheat. Personally I play every Sunday evening in the local Pub. We play up to 11 points for £1/ game. A few pints of cider and a good game of cards is a brilliant way to spend an evening. It"s also funny to watch the people who don"t know how to play, they are completely confused when we all throw the cards in. It"s the only game you can"t learn by watching, you have to play it to understand the significance of Benny/Right and Left. Good luck in your search for a game.

I live in Guernsey Channel Islands. All the locals are mad about Euchre over here. They have pub leagues etc. However I don't really see it in the UK.

It is played in parts of Britain (especially Devon, Cornwall and the Channel Islands), http://www.pagat.com/euchre/euchre.html#british

My parents taught me and and a boyfriend Euchre once, which was good fun (especially when we beat them), but can't remember how to play it.
