It does not change to italics on my Yahoo Mail.

When I send an e-mail, it moves to the sent directory, when I click on the e-mail after a few seconds of being highlighted it goes from bold to normal.

I'm affraid there is no way of knowing if your e-mail has been read until you get a reply.

Yes indeedy xx It really is that as well despite what the person above me has just said. I just checked and all of my sent e-mails apart from 2 which I have gone back into are in bold, implying they have not been opened and read.

No, usually when it goes into italics, it means it didn't go through and is waiting until the server is ready to try to send again. I can't believe people said yes.

yes, - you can change it back to bold (why anybody would want to do that) by ticking the box next to it and then going to the option "mark", on the drop down box click "mark as unread", the text will now turn back to bold
