This is a very tricky question......

1000 years back when we understood very little of science we said that rain was caused by God when he cried, earthquake happened when he was angry and so on.

The very same people [humans] now know how rain, earthquakes, hurricanes are caused scientifically. So as we understand science more and more we need not associate god with those phenomenon. Proving that god exists is impossible, even to prove that god does not exists is also impossible.

But believing that god exists provides a sense of security to a lot of people hence the belief. 1000 years back probably 99% of the humans believed in god. Today about only 70% believe in god. After another 1000 years if we have made enough scientific advances if 90% do not believe in god, i will not be surprised.

So my thoery to connect science and god is that as the understanding of science tends towards perfection[100%] the need for god tends towards 0 !!

The explanation is contained in two words. Genisis 1:2 says "But the earth became waste and void" obviously God would not create something waste and void. The words "But" and "became" indicate that there must be a gap between Genisis 1:1 and Genisis 1:2. How else would you explain the dinosaurs and accounts of how satan was cast down to the earth? There is also another verse in the OT that says that the angels were rejoicing when God created the heavens and the earth. Why would they rejoice if what He first created was waste and void? So there is a major gap between these two verses, only God knows how long, but the estimates based on science are in the billions. Neither the Bible nor science needs to be explained. As christians, we cant just accept facts blindly. I dont know why some christians still believe that the earth is about 6,000 years old when science clearly disproves this. There are always clear answers if we really dig into God's word.

Not any more.

In medival science, there was a connection since the study objects of science (life, universe and everything) were considered divine.

Today, theology is about spirituality, metaphysics, ethics, those kind of things. No connection with science.

The closet you can get to a connection is in the attempts from neuroscientist to explain why people believe in God (or whatever they believe in).

Of course - the theory on mutual exclusion - this defines a clear connection between science and God, or between facts and faith.

NO!

I will though try to endeavour to give you peace of mind.

A young atheist astronomer went to a big observatory and went on the offensive in the creation of the universe. He then asked the bigwig of the observatory how he got hold of the model planetarium sitting on his desk. He said, "I don't know it just appeared there one day”. The young astronomer said, “Bull! It just can’t appear”.
The Bigwig said, “You can believe that stupid object can be there without cause however you can believe that what you see through the telescope just happened”.

I know this is a bit lame and I am a student of astronomy and not religious just a bit spiritual. I find this gets me through those long hours of reading deep books on the creation of the universe. It gets grey sometimes but science is god who ever that is and the universe is absolutely fascinating.

It is impossible to explain god from scientific principle since mythologies has long described god with extraordinary powers that do not follow any science ;)

yea, mine, I watched a tiny spider scamper across the table at a high rate of speed, I just let him go, and watched as a child, my father was behind me watching me, and said "No machine, or man made thing can do that, only God could design something so perfect that can do that", open your eyes, your world is filled with amazing things that you take for granted.
