New words such as "muffin top" and statistics indicate that people in the UK are growing larger.

Is this a case of being

a. "Super-sized", implying a kind of macho effect due to comfort and good living. A positive connotation.

b. "Over-sized", implying an unhealthy level of obesity and fat. A negative conotation.

Oh, definitely "b".

The British don't have a great rep (as a nation - there are noted exceptions) for physical health, anyway. The porking-up of Brittania is in no way "macho" or "positive."
Nothing mach about a gut. Nothing positive about rolls of fat.

Cheers.

people are getting fatter and then try to blame society for creating an images they cant live up to (e,g fashion magazines) although i do agree that they do set a very high standard fat people need to realise that your unattractive if you are overweight not because of the magazines etc but because it is unhealthy.....
humans as animal will always be more attracted to fitter stronger mates just like the rest of the animal kingdom

Boy, is THAT undesirable information for the Raider united states of america! I doubt Al will ever see a triumphing season, throughout his tenure, no longer to point a SB? I agree, perhaps he's been ineffective for years, already.

We are becoming oversized because it is not having a postive effect on our evolvement as animals ( we are dying because of it)

Supersizing is where we evolve and live longer and healthier lives because of it. ( As per the animal kingdom when food was abundant- animals grew larger and healthier)

So definately B
