.) All people in power must be wise. Not "wise in their own eyes" (political pandering), but wise in the eyes of the masses. For what good is it to liberate a country, yet kill its innocents? What good is it to stand for human rights, and equality of all mankind, yet those within your own country are suffering from poverty, and racism still exists under the facade of equality (affirmative action)? Change the hearts, minds, and attitudes of the populace, and you have won them.
.) All things must be open and free for all people to see. All things done behind closed doors incites fear, paranoia, and anti-government sentiments. If our own people cannot trust us, who can? If we do what is right, then we have no fear of opponents seeing our plans, for other nations will stand strong with us.
.) In war, defend by force, but the offensive should be done in the name of love and pacifism. Love does not kill, but rather, changes the hearts and minds of the enemy. An enemy populace who sees you killing innocents will stand against you and resent you. The enemy populace will stand with you, and fight for you, if you feed and clothe the innocents instead. Marytrdom of the peacebringers (that is, being killed while showing mercy to the populace) will provoke the sentiments to the dead, and gain allies to our cause.
.) Free trade. No man may dishonestly have an advantage to make money over anyone else because of their position.
.) Mankind's potential. No one may choose one person over another because of name, race, religious status, age, disabilities, or anything, while attempting to employ workers. Choice should be made by knowledge, wisdom, experience, skill, and attitude. Elitism is non-existant, for the company cannot function without a CEO to lead, guide, and represent it, nor can it exist without the workers who make the products. What right has the eye of a body to say to the foot, "The body doesn't need you, but it needs me"? Both are either equally unnecessary, or both equally necessary.
.) Unilaterism. A soverign nation need not answer to a world government to exist. If the world chooses to bomb a nation, see how fast said nation will be quick to fight against them... yet if our nation feeds, clothes, and teaches the occupied nation, see how fast they will accept us.
.) Morality is part of law, and should not be seperated. If murder of an adult, intelligent, Caucasian male is illegal, it should be equally illegal to kill anyone else, regardless of age, sex, mental capacity, beliefs, or birth status. If it is illegal to lie in a court of law, it should be equally illegal to lie in public life. Non-marital sex (that is, one man, one woman, joined for life, with the exclusion of abuse or adultery) leads to rampancy of STD's within a nation, and should be illegal. Smoking leads to lung cancer, and should be illegal. Drunkenness leads to bodily damage, and at worst, death to innocents, and should be illegal. All things that are illegal are heavily pushed as being bad, within the media.
.) Material wealth should not be the driving force of the populace, but rather, a promotion of the values of time, wisdom, education, peace amongst mankind, and equal treatment for all, should be. Let your wealth be counted by the seconds you spend searching for the cure to cancer, or the minutes of feeding the poor... not by the pieces of green paper, silver coins, or gold bars you have. Those are merely the by-products of your efforts.
.) Love, truth, mercy, patience, forgiveness, hope, wisdom, strength, health, hospitality, gentleness, self-sacrifice (sharing with and giving to others, even at your own expense), and self-control promoted in all things.
.) Above all things, our children are our most valuable asset. They must be raised to an equally moral, wise, knowledgable, and merciful level, lest our nation fall to immorality and self-destruction in a matter of a few generations.
I could go on, but this broadly encompasses my vision for a great nation.
"Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other." - John Adams, 2nd U.S. president... the U.S. has become completely immoral and anti-religious... and we are falling fast.
