What does it mean just be your self? What if I don't know how to be my self. I just try to imitate other people behavior.Lots of time I don't know how to act, what kind of person to be. I am really insecure. I always look for other people for approval. Never take any risks. When I am alone with new people I have no idea what to do,what to talk about. How do I find my true self, and become confident?

Usually first instinct is who you are. Whatever comes to mind first when doing something, continue with what you thought. Being yourself is usually not something you have to think about. It comes out naturally. It sounds to me like you're depressed. If you want my opinion. Stop thinking about what other people want, and start doing what you want. So long as it stays within the limits of the law depending upon where you are. Confidence usually comes with time and experience. If you think negative thoughts you won't be confident. Life is no rehearsal. Everyone feels that way... as a follower sometimes... and confused as well. Don't worry so much, and you will come to terms with who you are.

Poor U...There's a thought: Were U so sick of not taking any risks, that U finally took one, without assessing it and then U got down? The solution with new people is the following: people usually like talking about themselves. Make them tell U their story. You'll see how the atmosphere lightens up.
And cheer up: sometimes it's harder not to take any risks than to hit the wall face-up.
The true self-only U know it. Maybe U are in the wrong entourage, people always criticize U? U need somebody to lift your moral and show U your very own "sunny" side. In the end U'll make it. Write me, if U want. I'm open.

What are your likes and dislikes? Your good qualities and your bad ones? And you experiences? They all shape YOU.
And about being yourself, it just means doing whatever that comes naturally and feels good to you. If you feel its bad, then its not wrong to have a role model and try to be more like them in the one thing they're good at. "Imitating" others' behaviours also shapes you as you're taking everyone's good qualities.
But also, remember you have your own good qualities which also inspire someone you might not be knowing about. Believe and be secure of yourself in every little thing that you do, be it the way you walk, how you look, even the way you spread butter on your toast! That is confidence.

We put on facades believing this is the person which is acceptable to society. Not to put an airs or facades, to be real. Your true self emerges when you let go of fear. Start out alittle at a time, share a joke you like, tell someone somehing about yourself, share a thought or idea...as you get approval and approve of yourself it will get easier.

success builds confidence. make yourself respected. If you make something of yourself people auttomatically think you know something. there's nothing wrond with you at all, you just need to think you know everything! make something of yourself pronto.

it means no show offs....also means to avoid superficiality....every one of us unique in a different way....it also means to be your own natural self rather than try to become some one you aren't.
