'to get on the same page'

If someone says this to you, I understand it to mean that they want you to understand a subject or thing as 'they see it', so stand in their shoes so to speak.

For example, if you and a friend are working on a common goal or outcome, it benefits you both if you share the same intention and beliefs around this goal - which would be working from the same page.
