I'm a man and If I lay out on the beach and see beautiul woman in bikini's that is fine - that is acceptable because I chose to go there. But if I go to the mall or around the neighborhood - I shouldn't have to be forced to view such unmodest provocation - sexy woman, half dressed wearing boustierre, tight form jeans, mini skirts, showing off beautiful sexy bodies. Its forced upon my view and I can't help but look ( I'm a guy ) It all comes down to this. WHY am I being forced to VIEW SOMETHING I CAN'T HAVE? I won't go to a Ferrari dealership and view because I already know it will depress me because I can't have it... Ladies, do us not so good looking guys a break and try to dress a bit more modest - because it does bother some!

Excuse me? You are forced to look at sexy women, dressing the way they see fit? Is anyone holding a gun to your head? Is anyone tying you down and keeping your eyes open (like on Clockwork Orange)? From the way you asked your question, I don't think this is the case!
You tried using an interesting parallel, but you messed up a little. You do not go to a Ferrari dealership because you can't have one and don't want to feel depressed. Going to a model's convention would be the correct parallel. Veiwing sexy women around your neighborhood is like your neighbor buying a Ferrari and driving it down the street. Would you say Ferraris should then be outlawed because you can't have one?
You sound like a man with serious issues that need to be addressed by a therapist. It seems you look at sexy women more than most normal men. And I can tell that you definitely appreciate them; if you were truly offended, you would be saying that it's offensive and vulgar, not appealing. Perhaps the reason you don't have a beautiful woman in your life is because you look at them like objects. As a woman, I can tell you this first-hand: we don't like that!
And we also don't like for sexually repressed men to suggest that we cover up more; especially in the summer. What do you want us to do? Go around dressed like nuns and drop from heat exhaustion? I think not!

I would not go so far as to outlaw a freedom of expression such as individual choice of clothing. However I live in India & we are exposed to American TV shows. I am intrigued by the effect the amount of cleavage shown by western woman would have on the men. I'm sure even I would find it distracting !
What I would be interested to know is do women like this attention & how do they handle it ?or are they oblivious & totally innocent of the devastation left in their wake ?like with our questioner here ??
(After reading some more answers) Why is everyone attacking the questioner ? Isn't he too entitled to his opinions ? Are we forgetting that there is a biological difference between men & women & that men may get turned on more ? All I can suggest to him is being aware of his weakness not to ogle at scanitly dressed women. You can change yourself but cant expect 1000's to change because of you. I appreciate this 'peek' into the male psyche as they dont analyse & verbalise as much as we women do.

So you are saying that women would be best in clothing that covered their entire body -- veils and burkas come to mind.

If you really can't handle a little bit of flesh, even if it's a well toned torso, you should probably speak to someone about what behavior/reactions to such displays are normal, and what behaviors/reactions to such displays are not.

I don't think it should be outlawed however....
I do think women should be more aware of what they're doing. Especially the younger ones. Sometimes girls are very naive to the point that they know they like the attention and passing glances, but they don't know that they may be attracting a very dangerous sort of attention.
Men like yourself may look and pass on by, being either aroused or angry or whatever. But there are those men who will take it further and actually go in for what they perceive to be 'available' and on display.
I think people in general should be able to wear what they like, perhaps society needs to change it's attitudes toward women's bodies and sexuality.
Certain classes of pornography and male chauvinism would be the first to be outlawed if it were up to me.

Do you mean you want the West to be like Iran or Saudi Arabia and have only women's eyes visible by others? If it is distresses you so much maybe its better you move than force the rest of the population to confirm with you desires.

okay NO ONE is forcing you to look if you can't control yourself then the problem is with you!.. how backward are you...women should be able to wear what they like!... I'm nothing special as a woman and i have daughters of my own but that doesn't mean i want someone telling what i can or can not wear just because men can't control themselves. and as far as Indian women dressing gracefully...this guy wouldn't be able to control himself at the sight of midriff...the sari is a beautiful item to wear but still shows off flesh!

And why should we? It's a free world and it's your eyes. And if you can't control yourself, then it's your fault and nobody elses, no matter how you try to pin the blame on someone else. No one's forcing you to watch.

ur right i think we have the same thinking cause both of us are not good-looking guys i know i am fat and i usually felt depressed when i see those girls wearing sexxy outfit with a guy that sometimes i wish i am her boyfriend .but theres a solution just go to your room and imagine that girl u saw with a sexxy outfit and play with your hand. that i think will forget your feeling of jealousy over to that guy who owns that girl or there are many girls wearing sexxy outfit in a strip club and the girls are for your taking if you have a lot of money to spend right so just enjoy those sexxy girls you meet in the mall or neighborhood and then **** it of on your room okay thanks
