I tried re-installing my browser and plug-ins but it still happens. I used to have this problem before but I got it fixed but now it's coming back. maybe it rely on your RAM memory thats why your PC always get hang when you try to play a media. try to browse in the local internet browser like the internet explorer. maybe your firefox is not suitable in the os you using today, what your os instead? firefox known aplicable on XP most.

Hi Nikki,Well I thought I was the only one who had problems. After calling every company in the us.I found my computer was outdated,(YES)! Out dated, and I brought it used from tigerdirect.com.Heck of a unit,3.2 gigs,1 meg ram.Called gateway said board(Computer)was old.Microsoft told me to load up multi media, which helps. My Friend told me overheating causes this problem also.Fan is control on speed, yes control on levels.I have a fan blowing on the board at high speed and once in a while it will lock up.I also notice that my new used computer kick butt then when it gets overheated it will slow down.I then forgot to turn on the fan.It works and hope it works for you.Nikki I will never ever buy another used piece of equipment that has something to do with computers or camera's.

Try to uninstall your sound card driver and re-install a more updated one, manually. Visit the sound card manufacturer's site and see what updates are available for your sound card. But before doing this, please scan your PC for viruses and specially scan and remove spywares.
