If your mother is Innocent and you let your wife over power her then you need to be hung naked by the fingers over an ant hill in the middle of the desert after being beat for 3 weeks with a Thorn bush dipped in acid and salt poured on your wounds & don't even say you didn't know your wife was going to jump onto your mother. I say you are deffantly the guilty one for letting it happen. Otherwise yes, if your wife is at fault beat the crap out of her if you can get by with it, but divorce her regardless.

Call the police and report it. Let the law take care of it and don't lay a hand on your wife or divorce her. Just let the law do it all.
Your mother can file a restraining order against her as well.
And, your wife probably had a really good reason to do this, I imagine. You should be on YOUR WIFE'S SIDE. After all, you LEFT your mother, right? You married this woman, right? She's your companion, not your mom. So you should figure out why your wife did this, see it from her side, and support her, even if it dumb. You picked her, don't go desserting her now and siding with your lil'ol' mommy!!!
Just get the authorities involved and understand your wife. That's the best thing to do!

Don't be stupid if you beat her, you could go to jail for assult and no one looks at men who beat his wife with respacted no matter the reason!
Talk to your wife, she may have had good reason. Your mother could all do what mine does.. Its called ex-zag-ch-raeting the true so she doesn't look like the bad guy. I mean where you there? Did you see who through the first punch?
If it turns out your wife didn't have reason, stared it or worse. Put her *** behind bars were it belongs.
If you don't have both sides of the story and you where not there its not right to just go slap someone around. If it truns out your mom hit your wife first and you had slap your wife around before you found out. What kind of man would that make you?
In my oppion you a bad one to begain with just for even thinking any it would be ok to hit a woman. Didn't your MOTHER ever teach you 'Its wrong to hit women no matter what the reason?'

That is horrible, your wife is a terrible person. I mean that is your mom! You should seriously think of talking to a councillor. I have never heard of anything so out there as this. What was she thinking? I don't know the situation but you should really think about if she is worth having in your life if she is an a abusive type of person. I just hope you don't have kids, having mommy beating up grandma. Boy that is just bad!

But upto that our mothers cares like the eye is carred by the eyebrow. Eventhough mother spend only short period with us than a wife the time spent is precious. She(wife) comes only late that too see whether ur ok in health wealth and all but mother does not know whethere u will take care her in his old age but cares u very much.

Usually a husband's mother is quiet troublesome. divorcing her is out of the question,i can guarantee u will divorce every other woman coz u havent solved the problem. beatingg her back wont solve the problem either.
Let me give u a guide:
1. has she ever complained to you about your mother? maybe over her behaviour or abusive words?
If Yes;
Then do nothing and sort it out with your mother coz she complained to u and u did nothing about it. Remember, she is your wife and its your duty to protect her.
If No;
Then sit them down 2gether, find out exactly what transpired for her to have beaten your mother. asking them without the other's presence wont solve anything coz u wont be told the truth, only a story tailored for your ears.
However this is not to say that your wife was right in beating up your mother, find out the real cause of the fight.

Find out the full story - both from your wife and from your mom.
I see this as an extremely bad sign. I would never want to be married to an abusive person, and I can't imagine what excuse she'd have. I'd definitely hear what she has to say for herself, but it would take a pretty incredible story for me to accept her actions as reasonable.
Beating her back solves nothing, it only leads to more problems down the road. If your marriage isn't salvageable, divorce her and be done with it.
