I just looked at my alarm and it was set to 10.35am. Hopefully this will make a difference, but I'm not sure as yet!

I make sure the screen is properly blank before I lock it, which is why it confuses me so much!

you shouldn't lose your songs, and check to see if it is fully charge, when i first got mine, i never fully charged it and i was wondering why the battery only lasted like a day, then i let it fully charge and it was fine, and it would take less time to charge after that. i never had a problem with my alarm

You probably have the alarm on, that happened to me once he he.
but could also be that you haven't turned it off properly, my unite kept on loosing her battery and she ended up keeping it on her dock for ages and never using it! make sure you take of lock and then hold the play/pause button until the screen goes black and then hit lock/hold!

If either of these work you may not have charged it enough when you first bought it....your ment to charge it for eight hours for the first two days so it don't loose battery wile playing songs etc.

I had the same problem then discovered that the alarm was set to midnight and it played all night until the battery died. Check the alarm and make sure it is turned off!

Are you sure you completely turned it off and didn't leave it on standby?

You have to turn it off by pressing and holding the "Play/Pause" button and then lock it.

Otherwise it will stay standby in the background and keep taking power.

If you have to have it repaired, you can still make a backup of your library in iTunes which you can import again later.

the ipod never really turns off just goes to sleep. if u return the ipod they will give you another one, so your songs on it will be lost.
