Good question.....:-)
Yes nowadays students have so much to learn, not just studies but the trend is such that they need to be an all rounder, they have lot of pressure to put up with, even the parents go thru tension....quite a lot u see...
Most of the kids are oustanding , so there is more push and at the rate our population is growing , it is obvious, more no of competitors, more tough the competition becomes, then think how difficult is it tp survive among top class fighters

I am a parent, school volunteer, and substitute teacher. Students are way overburdened with studies, and the sad part is it is no longer a 'rounded' education. Our elementary school has cut art, music and all language classes from its curriculum. No creativity allowed for at all anymore. It is so sad!

There are stories about some great people who did not have the luxury of any lamp except the street light. Even today in villages where electricity has not reached or there's constant power shortage, children study with kerosine lamps. Study is study, whether you study under table lamp or any other source.

Yes, in fact there have been several studies conducted on the effects of the school system on kids. Theese found that as our teachers give more homework, our kids are seeing higher stress levels and LOWER test scores. When will the NEA learn that hoemwork is not working.
