A polar bear is certainly the largest and probably the strongest land mammal which actively and aggressively hunts for food in inhabited areas. They turn very nasty when hungry.
Gorillas are very shy, passive creatures; gentle giants who would only kill to protect their young as a last resort. Although, as with other apes and primates, mature males sometimes kill the previous offspring of their current mates which they did not father themselves. This is done to promote their own genes over others and is hardly a fair match.
I'd have to go for the bear and probably the polar bear.

Supreme logic: lol
Now the strongest bare is perhaps the Zodiac Bear. I believe that is found in Asia. ... I think that females are bigger.
The stronges gorrila is possibly the Male silverback.
A bear would resort to head on thrust and using its 3 primary attacks, teeth, claws, and weiths. The zodiac bear can be over 10 ft. tall when standing up!
The gorrila is a bit more intellegent. It would possibly be passive and stay out of its way till the oportuned moment. But that is just a theroy. These animals probably wouldn't fight anyway.

Slightly odd question, but here are my thoughts...
THE BEAR WILL WIN.
An adult male gorilla weighs in at around 200 kilos (440 lbs) whereas a large adult bear (kodiak or polar) weighs in at over 800 kilos. It's be like you taking on a mythical giant - you'd be flattened!
And while the gorilla is smarter and more agile, the bear can run much faster (most bears can run faster than a horse over short distances).
And let's not forget the natural weaponry of the bear - big teeth and claws, designed for killing and eating meat (despite the fact that most bears are omnivorous). The gorilla mostly eats vegetation and it's teeth are designed for chewing plants, not ripping open flesh.
In short - THE BEAR'S GONNA FEED!

A gorrila would win a battle with a bear, simple because they are more evolved. A gorrila could even use a tool/weapon. Bears rely on brute force, while primates can devise a plan/strategy.

The one with the biggest teeth and claws, so I would say the bear. The bear could take his huge paws with claws sticking out like knives, and get the gorilla with one swipe of the paw. Also a Polar bear has a killing instinct that just will not stop, and probably eat that gorilla before lunch.

i would have to say the gorilla for the following reasons:
-longer reach
-can stand up longer due to the fact that they have muscles aligned like humans
-more flexible spinal cords
-more agile
-use tools
-males more aggressive
-more intelligent
-bears have to use propultion to move gorillas use a rocking motion like humans
-gorillas can back up
-gorillas live in packs but bears don't so they use tag team (u may have said strongest but u forgot to say one on one)
-gorillas can adapt to different conditions
my money is on the gorilla

On the offchancce that this happened, the bear. They're actually meat eaters and hunters so they have the weapons and the experience needed.

Bear, unless it was in the winter seeing as how the bear would be hibernating.
