go to start/run and type in control panel/click ok/click on administrative tools/click on computer managment/device manager/ click on floppy disk drives and make sure it says there that device is working properly if not click on troubleshoot button, follow on screen prompts.

It may not be enabled.

If you are WinXP - Right click on My Computer, Properties, Hardware Tab, Device Manager.
Look for your Floppy Drive and enable it by right clicking.

firstly any floppy disk drive uses drive letter A or B not Drive letter C. Drive C is your main hard disk drive.
If you cannot see drive in "my computer" the drive is either faulty or has not been enabled in the setup.
I would recommend that seeing as you would appear to not have a lot of experience with handling setup problems you should take the computer to your local computer shop and get them to check it for you.

go to mycomputer-> Properties->Hardware-> Device manager-> Floppy disk Controllers->Standard Floppy disk controler-> select disable or enable from tool bar above.

Press F1 or Del before startup of booting procedure. Depending on manufacturer of your motherboard press F1 or Del to go on BIOS. Now set the BIOS Settings to Default. This might solve your problem most probably. if problem persists contact me on Y! messenger.

1. 3.5 drive has to be physically installed and properly connect with your system.
2. u have to enable it from your BIOS setup, because it's generally not reflect in your bios even u connect it.
