I had an ultrasound today when i saw my ob and he said i am week further a long that i thought (17 weeks). He couldnt quite tell the sex but said he was 80% sure he knew but would rather be 90% sure before he told us. Do you think that means it was more likely a boy or a girl? Just curious......i will love it either way i want to know but i dont.

put a wedding ring on a chain and dangle it over your tummy, if it starts to move in a circular motion its a boy if it goes side to side its a girl. when youve stopped laughing try it it works.

You have to realize that sometimes it's just not easy to tell. It's not like the baby comes with a sign or something - and sometimes the little critter is just moving around too much to tell if it's a boy or a girl.

Add to that - our lawsuit happy culture - some bozos have actually sued their doctor's because they said boy and it ended up being a girl, or vice versa.

It might be that your doctor's office has a policy of not saying.

Either way - buy newborn stuff that is white, yellow and green - and that way you'll be safe. Then you can add blue or pink depending upon if it's a boy or a girl.

It could be either. Just because you don't see boy parts doens't mean it's more likely to be a boy. Ultrasound techs like to see either boy parts or girl parts to make a determination.

And btw, trust the ultrasound tech over the OB. Most OBs don't have training in ultrasound.

I've heard that depending on how high you carry and the heartrate can determine what the sex is. I carried really low and the heartrate was about 140-145. I ended up having a beautiful baby daughter. Either way, congratulations!
