You shouldn't really put a dead mouse in the bin. Other animals may catch the scent and rummage through your bin, scattering rubbish everywhere and take the mouse and spread disease.
The safest ways to dispose of a dead mouse is either by burying it, or burning it.

Take it out the bin, or it will stink to high heaven, I found a dead bird in the garden put it in the bin and the smell was putrid the next day.

I flush mine, birds and all, sometimes they float and I have to use the bog-brush to force them around the U-bend. It's not really an answer just passing on a bit of info.

You should be more responsible than to let your cat anywhere near your mouse. This is sad.

That wasn't very decent of you. I think all animals should have a decent burial.
