I used to love The Sitar in Gastown back when I lived in Vancouver. It was years ago but the fact that its still running in a tourist district is promising.

If you're in the Fairmont on Georgia, you'll probably find yourself walking along Granville and probably in Gastown sometime during your visit. Its not very far from the Sears Tower, the steamclock or Vancouver's Chinatown.

Enjoy your trip. Its a great city.

The Fairmont Hotel Vancouver is clear enough, downtown on West Georgia, the old Hotel Vancouver.

Let me think about Indian restaurants, but there are a lot of trendy and ethnic places along Robson st.

There was a place we went to that was highly recommended by friends. And it was very good. Banana Leaf, 820 West Broadway. Malaysian cuisine, a blend of Indonesian, Thai, Indian, Chinese, and Portuguese. But it isn't walking distance, it's across the bridge. But it just might be the closest anyway, nothing close to West Georgia comes to mind.

This restaurant is a short taxi ride from the hotel and is suppose to be amazing but pricey.
