how many years before a lipstick expires? According to what I have read in the net, they said 2 years. But what if i've been using my lipstick for a few months after 2 years already?

lipstick is safe to keep till it begins to smell because of the contents its shelf life usually outlasts the tube.

They say that you shouldnt keep anything after 6 months! The problem is germs. You can get an eye infection form your mascara because they can breed in your mascara tube for example.

Lipstick however is different. If you dont use it when you have a coldsore for example then it should be ok till it runs out. The only thing that expires is the scent. In reality the stuff they make make up out of smells gross, so they cover it up. The bad smell is just this wearing off there is nothing wrong with your lipstick!

You can prolong the shelf life of your make-up by keeping it in the fridge.

you change your toothbrush every three months.
you use a clean glass every time you drink a glass of water.
why not throw your lipstick, mascara out after you use it for a certain length of time. I have heard that mascara should not be used after opened for six months.
