I was spanked bare bottom till I was 14. I was talking to a friend of mine who had the same experience. We just observed that it is not done anymore, which is probably a good thing, but we feel our generation was much better behaved and respectful of people.

I was never bare bottomed as I recall. and I have never spanked my children that way. I have spanked them over clothing. The butt has no vital areas that can be damaged for spanking. I think we were made that way on purpose.
you are right though. The people that were actually disciplined are now the people who are better behaved and respectful.

I don't know what age it stopped ...probably about 5 or 6...I don't advocate hitting children...but you're right the last generation's permissive parenting seems to have resulted in less well behaved and respectful people.

I was 13 teen and it was with a belt....... Now days its with out a belt and very firm and hard... I behave much better now that I did back then.....

still happening the only difference is as a kid they were frequent and unwelcome, nowadays I have to pay for the priveledge of getting my bottom smacked.
