Ok, so I have Sims 2 already downloaded for a while now and I just bought University tonight, I tried to install it and did ok until it asked for me to insert the Sims 2 dvd disk...I have no idea where it's at...is this disk neccesary or is there ANY way I can work around this?

I'm pretty sure you have to have it but contact technical support at http://thesims2.com and ask them about it.

Don`t you know Sims 2 University its an add-on . That means you will need to install first Sims 2 and after that you will install over Sims 2 Sims 2 University.

Yes, contact EA support and they will send you a replacement disk. You'll need to let them know your registration information for the original game.
