i would like to start a lock smithing course in las vegas nv ..any know of a good school...local or homestudy ?

I think locksmith is as good as any careers out there as long as you enjoy doing it. I'm sure you will be able to make living doing it. It won't be as fancy as some other careers but would provide steady income. However, I never saw anyone stroke jackpot and became millionaire working as a locksmith.

As the locking technology evolves, you will continuously have to study to keep up with advancement in locking mechanism including digital, electromagnetic, biometric locks, and etc.

Look in your phone book and make a list of the number of Lock Smiths in the city. Know your competition.

Then decide.

I heard that lock smithing is a career that is taught through apprenticeship.
And schools are a waste of money.
