legally they are allowed to see them in their own home, with consent of parents etc
but cinemas are not allowed to sell them tickets

I heard Drew Barrymore didnt see the movie fire starter she was in until about 6 years after she made it because she was too young to see it. I dont know honestly but legally you wouldnt think so.

I'm sure there a little more mature than most kids based on their feild of study. If more kids, or parents for that matter where more mature, they'd be able to watch R movies and understand it without acting crazy and irreasponsible.

Probably they just have to wait until they reach the legal age. Or perhaps there's a separate censored version for them.
