Hi,

The old Teochew Restaurants that my grandmother will frequent.

Liang Kee: Near Central Mall and the Singapore Rep Theatre

Ah Hoi/ Lee Kui: Mosque Street (typical old fashion teochew restaurant. The braised goose, and orh nee is to me, the best around.

Huat Kee: Amoy Street (expensive!)

Hung Kang: South Bridge Road (we no longer go there since the food now has too much Cantonese influence)

Ah Orh: I believe its near Henderson area. Only eaten once. Not too bad. Had this small slimy fish thats either cooked in soup or deep fried. The bones are pretty soft.

There's another one at Whampoa. Their chives and prawns are fantastic.

Hope this helps.

The Teochew Restaurant in Amoy Street is very good, I frequent that place whenever there is an occassion or business lunch. Walk towards the row of shophouses opposite Amoy Street food centre, u will be able to see it.

There's one at Takashimaya. On the 4th floor I beleive (above where Kino is).I'm bad at names so I can't remeber what the name of the restaurant is. Try the braised goose and tofu. It's really rich and yummy. Their steamed pomfret is also very good.
