I think the most important ingredient for a relationship to last
is love with understanding. However, there are other qualities
like trust, honesty and concern which may also help in the
lasting of a relationship between two people. But there are
some people who only feel that sexual intercourse alone is
enough to fulfill a lasting relationship. It may not last till the
end when both are old and physically cannot perform any more.

Ability to communicate,and trust.You also need to secure w/ yourself. Your insecurities will kill a relationship faster than anything else.

Give and take, and the ability to say, "I'm sorry," and mean it, when you are wrong. Also, being able to be "one," but also giving each other space, always be in each others heart, but let each other have room to have hobbies.
