TALK...TALK...i agree that TEARS FOR FEARS sang Mad World....songs i can think of from the top of my Head that TALK TALK did sing are....MY FOOLISH FRIEND..ITS MY LIFE..LIFE'S WHAT YOU MAKE IT..HAPPINESS IS EASY..... all good titles eh..xxxx

A) Everyone is right, the original was Tears For Fears, not Talk talk.
B) Nobody is quite right about the artist for the cover version. It was Michael Andrews featuring Gary Jules. Poor old Michael Andrews, no one ever remembers him although his name was first on the billing!!!
C) The song was due to be the first single by Alex Parks, who had sung it on the TV reality show she won (Fame Academy?). As her first single it was virtually guaranteed number 1 status. However, that plan had to be shelved when the Michael Andrews version was released and became a surprise hit....

No they didn't, it was released by Tears For Fears in 1983, from The Hurting album, and it was covered by Gary Jules for the Donnie Darko movie in 2001,
becoming the official Christmas Number One Single for 2003.

Yeah - it was off the Film Donnie Darko and done by Gary Jules. I loved it.
