Hello everybody I am fan of shakira.. well I like more the old shakira when used to sing in spanish and she had a good voice in the past in albums like pies descalzos and donde estan los ladrones.. but lately she started to sing in english with her album laundry service and oral fixation.. I dont know if you really understand her when she sings in english in songs like whenever wherever,dont bother ,underneath your clothers and the most popular song hips dont lie..I want to know the opinion of the english speakers only natives who knows shakira only with her last 2 albums laundry service and oral fixation and I must confess I dont like her imagen as blonde with look like britney spears

I first heard of Shakira when Whenever, Wherever first came out. I have to say that I love everything she sings, English and Spanish. Her material in both languages is just so different... it's hard to compare the two, but I love all of her songs. Maybe it's because I'm Lebanese too, or because I've always had a rock chick inside of me waiting to burst out... but I appreciate all aspects and stages of her career. The fact that she's so versatile shows how unique and special she is... she's like no one else and that's what makes her so great!

I like Shakira, and yes I can understand her when she sings in english. Its the spanish I dont understand (lol)

i think i agree with you.. she is now a bit too commercialised... i remember the days of Ojas si (hope thats the right spelling).. i liked that old spanish image she had..
but all the same, the girl got talent i cant take that away from her, gues she's just tryna accomodate a wider audience by singing in english..

Of course I like her. I like her recent stuff much more, and yeah I like her Spanish songs as well, though recent Spanish songs, not the old stuff.

i know you only want "only english speakers" to post, but i want to add i perfer singing in spanish. i also loved the way she looked as a brunette (even red hair).
