but would love some suggestions on how to celebrate it. I had a surprise party when I turned 40. I would love to go on a cruise. However, that may be out of the question. I have worked hard all my life and I feel like the only way I'm gonna make it through this day is if I have something really neat to look forward to. Got any suggestions??????????

I turned 50 last November, and can't recall doing ANYTHING special to commemorate the occasion. But then, I've been divorced & single for years now, and scrape by on a very low budget!

If you are fortunate enough to have a "significant other", and a cruise is a little too extravagant right now, you should think about going off together for a "romantic weekend" out of town. It could be to a secluded cabin in the mountains, somewhere on a lake or by an ocean, or dinners & nightlife in a nearby city you always wanted to visit - just get away someplace different, and enjoy a change of scenery with your honey!!!

Make it exciting!! It's an important date, why don't you go on a cruise and invite all your friends, of course everyone has to pay their way, oops you said that,

Just do it, you are celebrating your life at 50, there is still time to come up with the finances. If you have kids, have them pay for it, or your friends and family they should be able to do it, is you need extra money, how about selling some stuff on ebay, especially towards the holidays, you should be able to make some good $$$
Best of luck and good wishes!! (cruises aren't that expensive, if you book now)

good for u, atleast u get to turn 50. In my country, nepal, very few people r fotunate enuff to be 50! be happy, think of all the things u did in the last 50 years, call ur friends, find your lost friends. u have taken so much for 50 years from the society, perhaps u should now start givin somethin back to your socity. anyways, happy b'day in advance!

I think you should take a cruise. Or go on a special little holiday. Maybe take a tour of your own city? Do something you like and just have fun!

We threw my mum a pyjama party for her 50th, not only did it take her back to her teens but finding something to wear was so much easier. Enjoy your 50th my mum is loving life at 52 now. You should do something for yourself also, why not volunteer for something you are really passionate about. Love life and keep smiling
