I've never done the chat room on either Windows or Mac, but maybe this is what you're looking for?
In the menu bar "Conversation" to "New Conference"
Looks like this allows you to initiate a chat room.
p.s. - saying "messenger" implies MSN or Windows messenger for most people, but specifying Yahoo Messenger or YM for short lets people know which IM client you're talking about

properly this occurred to me too. Are you utilizing the mac or pc version? make certain you're downloading the mac version. this would artwork, all i will say is attempt. I tryed it and it did not artwork, yet i ought to have carried out some thing incorrect.
