Anton Van Leeuwen was the first to be called Father of Microbiology. However, its also Louis Pastuer who is hailed as the real Father of Microbiology.

Pasteur inaugurated the modern age of medicine, leading to an increase in the human life span and a surprising population explosion. Accordingly, he has been hailed as the "Father of Microbiology" (a title also given to Antoni van Leeuwenhoek) and a "Benefactor of Humanity." Pasteurization led to the elimination of contaminated milk and other drinks as sources of disease

Louis Pasteur was the founder of microbiological sciences. He was a French Chemist. But Anton Van LeeuwenHoek is considered by many to be the father of microbiology.
