Going by the track record of Nehru-Gandhi family, it sounds plausible.

Also, it is easy to see that there had never been a nationwide struggle for Pakistan by Muslims and it was almost single handedly achieved by Jinnah. This shows that congress leaders of that time did not want any Muslim presence in writing their own constitution or vision of leading the nation.

Jinnah was a man of dignity... n he wanted Partition to safeguard the rights of Muslims in the Subcontinent... the "two-nation theory" was the main cause of partiton..,, hindus n muslims besides living in the same subcontinent for hundreds of years could NOT merge into one nationality...
n then after the war of independence (1857).. the hindus n thr british joined hands n gave muslims a very hard time... they were not given Government jobs... their rights were no safegaurded n then the "right for Seperate electorate" for Muslims was denied by Congress in NEHRU REPORT (1928)... muslims were NOT a minority.. but the Congress n the British treated them as a minority,...
n therefore PARTITION WAS NECESSARY!!!!
so that Muslims cud get a state of their own .. where their rights r safeguarded!!!!

Nehru was known for his hindu fanatism.... i dont think so he wud have liked the idea of partition!!!

There is no doubt that Nehru was after power and Jinnah was also an aspirant . Britishers put fear into Jinnah and convinced him that Muslims can prosper only in a separate Muslim state so ask for Pakistan. he threatened that there will be blood bath if his demand was not conceded. He showed a sample at Naokhali and Gandhiji felt very sad Gandhiji beleved that conceding to the demand of Jinnah would avoid further blood shed but Jinnah back stabbed Gandhi and millions of Hindus were killed.
Any way Nehru was happy thet he could grab Prime mister ship over the more desrving senior leaders like Rajai, Rajan Bapu, Sirdar Patel etc
