If you would shorten them I'd put the 'm' in as well. It would make English a bit more like Arab and Jewish, which is of course always a gain.

But "smb" is already almost a somebody and "smth" (could be confused for smooth) is quite something in a proper context. Expect much disproval and resistance for your proposal. Than again if enough people pick it up it could really become something.

Yes, I see it. I wouldn't write it in a formal paper, but in e-mail it would be just fine. (I'm American. I have to admit that I don't see it much. Come to think of it, I think the place I see it the most is in the writing of a colleague of mine, who learned English in England before coming to the United States.)

there is no definiteness whenever we use such abbreviations in the defined list.

if there is a previous reference, using such words often tend to convey the meaning.

who is reviewing such english these days, as everything needs a change as the future requires, keeping such perspectives in mind.

however, this can be considered a good thought.
