Marriage is relevant for all times. I can guarantee that hell will break loose if humanity treats that marriage is no longer relevant. Believe you me, marriage guards against free satanic ways. Have you seen the chicken? how they do it, they don't even know who their fathers are, will that not create some havoc in the society? Please trust me, marriage is what keeps us from fighting more than what we are doing now. Hope this really enlightens you. Good luck

No. In today's time it is not relevant at all, especially when both the sexes are financially independant and share the burden equally. In today's time you do not have to depend even on medical bills. A mutual respect for each other will suffice. Remember when the power is imbalanced, you are definately going to hurt anyone.

It is relevant to a limited extent. The older definitions of marriage need to change. It should not shackle two individuals in a loveless relationship. It should allow the individuals involved some amount of freedom to experiment and be creative.

I'm 23, and already 3 of my friends my age have been divorced and remarried. Now and days the sanctity of marriage has definately losts it's value. married people today think that if theres one arguement, one disagreement a divorce is an easy solution. of course we have accustomed more complicated stresses in life than our parents had, but it just seems like to me with a divorce rate of 60% people just want to take the easy road out instead of working through it all. Which reminds me I heard a funny from a friend the other day...my buddy just got married and he says "oh #####'s married now i'll have to wait 2 years to date her.

Yes, if you still believe in the institution thats based on trust. No two people are compatible every single day of their lives, conflict occurs in every single marriage( if there are no conflicts, then its a totally dysfunctional marriage :)). It still makes sense that we are ready to live together and sort things out our own ways rather than jumping from one person to other.

Definitely not. Our parents and our grandparents had a different childhood and different examples as to what a marriage was suppose to be. Back in their days, there were several important factors that made a marriage: morality, honor, and respect. Nowadays, we don't know what that is. No, marriage definitely does not work now as it did then.
