A semi-secret club of pro-Enlightenment gentlemen that met in Europe a couple hundred years ago.
Like all such organizations they were supposedly dedicated to the advancement of science, democracy, and freedom of religion.
The group hasn't existed in years, though Right-wing conspiracy theorists love talking about them and their insidious plans to destroy Christianity.
