I can really understand how you are feeling. I have tried the recommended sleeping aids that you get from the chemist but they don't seem to help me.
I think that by taking a bath about half an our before you want to go to bed helps relax your body and mind. And i know people say that you shouldn't have alcohol before you sleep but that advice also doesn't work for me. If i have glass of wine while i am in the bath then that really helps me relax ready for a good sleep.
A little mixture you could that is also good is having a glass of warm milk with a shot of whiskey in it. It tastes better than it sounds and I am not a whiskey person. Give it a go, and good luck!!!! :-)

I know how you feel. Try taking a hot bath and drinking some herbal tea just before bed. You could also sprinkle a few drops of lavender essential oil on your pillow to help you fall asleep, but be careful because too many drops of lavender oil will do the opposite and keep you awake.

1st of all make your room dark, don't use your room for anything else but to sleep in becuase sometime our body will get used to being in our room for other things and not learn how to slow down so we can sleep. To help you fall alseep I suggest a sleep aid. You can buy them over the counter just be careful not to use them every night and to make sure you get 8 hours of sleep. If you need to use them for more than a week you need to see a doctor. If you have problems staying asleep them you need to take melatonin. It a natural thing produced in you body but you may just need more of it but...there is no long term studys on it. sorry. mostly likely see a doctor

Make the room dark. Turn a fan on and make it blow on you. Use a warm duvet and you should fall asleep soon. Also try dreaming before you fall asleep. Think of what you want to dream about. keep it clean or you wont sleep!

been there, then your body just starts feeling restless so when you do lay down you cant. i would take a shower, drink some warm milk if you like that and turn the tv off and lights. or read a boring book. if you have any tea try chammomile tea or sleepy time tea that has a relaxing affect. i had to resort in benadryl to help me go to sleep not to make it habitual cause it leaves you drowsy in the morning.

Take a hot shower, a warm glass of milk with vanilla, do a long walk, watch a boring TV program, listen classic music...write down your worries.
