They say that you have the right to dispute these...but on all occaisons I have sent them emails asking why I was in violation and explaining why I thought I shouldn't be. They have never answered. Once in another category I was genuinely concerned about the welfare of a child...the details aren't important..but they answered. Do you think Yahoo is prejudiced against GLBT's..cause I sure think so...

Ya know, I took a journey to corporate Yahoo website land. In their About section they have values, etc all of which link to nicely worded corporate speak paragraphs, all but one that is. Guess where their About Yahoo corporate "come work for us" link on LGBT went... to Y/A with a disclaimer that Yahoo was not responsible for any of the material on Answers. Gives ya a pretty good idea, don't it.

To my knowledge, the reporting is made by fellow Y! Answer members. I actually do not believe there is much of a staff here to even read dispute email, let alone act on it. I have been reported often,.... that's life in the fast lane. What is the worst that can happen...I loose all my points? Big deal..the points are squat anyway. And I do not believe that it is Yahoo who is prejudiced as much as the fanatic Christian bunch here, who, by the way, are making this site so boring, I am just about to tune it out and move on. I am so bored with the same old questions that I have started attacking the hate mongers and basher IN questions. And, by the way, your question on "evolution" is one of the best questions..interesting, that I have seen here. Most questions are out and out boring, repetitious, etc. I can express an opinion only so many times on the same subject. Good luck, and peace. You sound like a person I would have as a friend were you to live closer than Canada.

I agree with you 100%. I have sent them two emails recently. I received notices because I agreed with another poster (was the offensive?), and also for telling someone to grow up. Yet, the person who posted one of the questions was saying that another member should be stoned to death. That was reported twice, and the question remained on the site.

I included all of the details in well-written emails, with links to the areas, and I asked why they are so soft with their "standards", particularly when there is so much homophobia and hatred that does not get removed, while other silly "offences" are taken seriously.

No response to those emails!

However, a month ago, I received another notice and I did get a response, a generic form message explaining the policies, but it provided no real answer to my specific questions.

So much for customer service and standards. Simply, they need to get their act together and stop being selective with their "standards".

EDIT: and 14 in one day for Everybody Loves Chris. That is appalling!

You know, I wonder myself.
I've recieved two supposed violation notices as well and also disputed them. I never recieved a reply either.
One I actually don't remember what it was about, I guess it wasn't that important, and the other was because I was trying to look for a long lost friend to let him know of a close family tragedy.

I disputed both times and never recieved a reply.
I don't know if it's actively a case of descrimination or simply bad work on the part of the Y!A team.

I would not worry about it Da Ben Dan. My guess is that if any one person reports another member, that member gets a notice without much checking at all. I have found your questions to be very thought-provoking, well-written, and interesting. At least online, you seem like a very nice chap who would make a very good casual or close friend in realtime -- Goldwing is very correct in that regard! Keep submitting those questions and answers!

Of course they are. I've submitted questions using clinical terms that others have found offensive, reported, and the questions were deleted within two hours. On the other hand, I have seen "questions" posted by people who only want to heap abuse on LGBT people, harassing us, insulting us, and often condoning physical violence against us. I have reported a number of those questions and they are still around - weeks later!

I am a straight guy and have received a few violation notices too. I also emailed yahoo about them and got no response. So it probably is not predjudice.

Maybe someone out there doesnt really like you. You know the violations here we can just do it ourselves, and more hten often without looking into it the email of violation was sent out. I was also one of them to receive, but no point arguiong.. ppl out there - self centered!

It may not be Yahoo's biases, but maybe you are being targeted and reported by other users. That would be my guess!

I remember you mentioning the "child welfare" issue that you had been talking about! It seems that you are someone's target of malicious intent!

i guess if there are enough reports regarding something you've done that people have seen as a violation they have to do something about. the simple haven't written back because they have other things to do.
