Al Davis at one time was the reason Oakland was so great. Not any more. Oakland will not be great again until he gives up control of the team in one fashion or another. John Gruden was a great fit there, and Davis' control got in the way and Gruden left... And we all saw what happend to them in the Superbowl. The Coach that took over after Gruden didn't get them to th eSB, he just didn't mess up enough to keep them from getting there on their own from what Gruden had taught them the years prior.
With SF winning today, they are a game ahead of Oakland and rise out of the cellar that is the worst team in the NFL. Oakland owns that title all by themselves as the loseingest team in the past 3 years. I think only going winless all year would be the only way a team could claim that from the Raiders...
Art Shell was handed crap, and all he can do is roll it up and toss it at someone else and hope it sticks to them...

I totally agree with Ian the Raiders just flat out suck they haven't been productive since they lost the Super Bowl against Tampa Bay, no matter who you bring in to Oakland they still will suck

You are right that Al Davis will fire Shell, but he is just the scapegoat. The Raiders went from AFC champs to AFC chumps in three years and it's not Shell who is not executing, it's the team.
