What would you choose? Why? I have an Audi A3 2.0 2006 model and I love it cos it runs quick & the consumption isn't bad at all. The other day I test drove a VW Polo 1.9 Tdi. I was shocked at how much power that car has while the turbo is boosting. But somehow I cant see myself driving it as an owner r any other diesel car. I know that they give you more mileage for your money but is it really that much more worth it?

A couple of years ago I owned a 320i BMW. The following happened: A VW Polo 1.9tdi kept up with me during some hard driving, at the time I didn't know that the mean little car chasing was a diesel. Only when both of us stopped at the traffic lights he managed to get in front of me wiping my face in the diesel insignia of his car. I immediately went to the BMW dealer, test drove a 330d - AMAZING - bought a 530d -phenomenal. The experience of the diesel`s torque is from another world!

I prefer the power delivery of a modern turbo-diesel to that of a petrol engine. The lower fuel consumption (and lower car tax) is an added bonus.

I can't understand the comparison of Audi A3 vs. VW Polo.
Surely the best diesel car to compare with your Audi is the Audi A3 2.0 TDi.

If you are looking for something to save a lot of money the TDI's from VW are awesome. Most of them get between 40 and 50 miles per gallon. I have a VW GTI with the VR6 engine and love it. I get between 25 and 30 miles per gallon and that works for me. I have never driven a diesel car, but have driven trucks and I love the power in the diesel engine. For a car though, I will stick to gas powered.

gas... cos the mid grade is just as expensive as diesel... yet you can mix and match the gas types into your car.... (don't do it too often... it can ruin the engine) when you want a little more kick in your vehicle...
