what in your opinion were the most cringe worthy of " all the rage at the time" must haves.looking back on it now. i remember ie:house brick sized "mobile telephones"/ sinclair c5 "car"/cabbage patch dollies/mickey mouse hat with large black plastic ears/perms/afros/leo sayer/five *star,to name but a few .

Rah rah skirts, velvet hipsters on men, patterned shirts with huge wing collars, Afro hair do's, platform shoes, 40inch bell bottoms, women who had their fringe bleached, leather trousers, those slogan tee shirts with rude sayings on that everyone bought at Blackpool years ago, brown glass beakers and cook wear, Pyrex plates, purple paint or wallpaper, paisley patterned wallpaper, black and orange Marquette sofas, patterned carpets, black silk sheets and pillowcases and as always white socks on men.

Hairy sideburns, comb over the bald patch hair, top pocket handkerchiefs, stout and mild, mild and bitter,
No such thing as lager.
Stag nights that were only for one evening not the weekend away stuff of today.
No TV just the radio with Dick Barton, radio Luxembourg and Dan Dare.
The light programme and Home service before radio 1 and 2.
I could go on but I might bore.

Give an era say the 1940's, 50's etc

Elvis Presley sideburns for guys, "big hair" and eyeshadow up to the eyebrow for gals...esp. that metallic blue shadow with the sparkles! And those "elephant ear" trousers (bellbottoms gone mad) that were deathtraps on stairs, esp. with platforms...
